Is there any artificial colour in sandstone?

No! The different colours in sandstone is a natural process over a long time, the colours come from mainly by the cementing material. SAI provides only natural sandstones.

Does the sandstone colour fade?

No! The natural colour will only become richer over time.

Does sandstone Absorb water?

Yes! All the natural stones absorb water this is natural for stone. However some stones absorb more water than others. Sandstone does absorb water, it depends on it’s application how much it absorbs. It can be sealed to control the amount of water absorbed.   

Sandstone is not as hard as granite and marble?

This is totally wrong, some sandstones are very soft and porous, however Technical results show some sandstones are harder than granite and marble.

Sandstone chips?

All stone chips. Depends on the way the stone is processed. When it’s processed the correct way, it is unlikely to be damaged.

Sandstone is good for outdoors, but not good for indoors?

Sandstone is not only good for outdoors. When used indoors, it gives a very warm, earthy and natural feel to it. The natural colours in sandstone blends well with other natural colours and products.

Sandstone doesn’t last long as granite and marble?

There are buildings built of sandstone which are 400 years old.

Sandstone can not be polished?
